In the studio recording their sixth official album, Little Sister has grown from strength to strength. On the forefront of the South African pop world for over ten years now, these musical stalwarts are taking their tremendous talent and nurturing it with the help of genius producer Lionel Bastos.
Having helped the girls dig deep in their creative reserves, Lionel has taken their great songwriting skills and angelic voices to new heights – exploring new territory while still holding on to that winning formula which has kept them in the limelight for over a decade.
The girls’ influences range from the credible folk-genius of the likes of Shawn Colvin, kd lang, The Indigo Girls and Ani DiFranco while the rock-tinged songs can be likened to those of Melissa Etheridge. Set to be released in March 2001, their newer material has combined African influences with deep bass grooves, guitar melodies with awesome vocal harmonies and is set to be one of the finest records of 2001.
The girls are currently hard at work in the studio as well as performing live at every available opportunity.
