Little Sister are one of South Africa’s hottest, most exciting and professional acts ever to emerge on the pop/rock scene. The two sisters from Pretoria are a tight, matured unit. They have a polished acoustic show, presenting a special blend of their original and cover version songs.
Over the years Debbi (born 15th August) and Jenni (born 8th October) Lonmon have absorbed many musical influences to form the unique Little Sister sound – acoustic folk, blues and hard edged rock ‘n’ roll. They have put together an exciting harmonious performance featuring both girls on acoustic guitar and vocals.
Winners of numerous Music Awards, they have toured all corners of South Africa and bordering countries, been on innumerable TV shows and extravaganzas and have been the support artist for various huge international acts, amongst them Bryan Adams, Indecent Obsession, and UB40. Also invited to play on the inauguration for President Nelson Mandela.
Little Sister have 5 albums to their credit with many original No. 1 national hits including “Dear Abbie,” “Peace on Earth,” and “Mystery of Life.” In 1993 the girls travelled to the Far East to promote the album release of “Along the Way.”
Debbi and Jenni successfully performed their highly entertaining “unplugged” show entitled “In Acoustic Mood” at the 1997 Grahamstown Festival. Little Sister also performs with a full band which can be booked for larger functions, weddings, parties, and corporate events. In fact, they will adapt their show to suit your personal requirements.
Two sisters – Debbi and Jenni Lonmon – grow up in Pretoria. They absorb various musical influences, specifically Acoustic Folk, Blues, Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Jenni and I had numerous influences i.e. Joan Armatrading, Janis Ian, Rickie Lee Jones to name just a few.

Debbi plays lead guitar in an all-girl rock band in Durban called “Pantha” including among its members, Penelope Jane Dunlop, later to become famous as PJ Powers.
Pantha was formed in 1979. We had a fairly good run but being an all girl group in the shadow of Clout, we never managed to secure a record deal. PJ Powers was the fronting singer then known as Penelope Jane Dunlop.

Debbi plays bass in another all-girl band. This one is known aptly as “Chix”.
Debbi and Jenni join up with a guitarist, Etienne Pieterson, and call themselves “On Account.” Tour pub circuit extensively. Jenni handles lead vocals and percussion. Debbi is bass guitarist.
Little Sister formed by Debbi and Jenni in Pretoria. Intensive live gigging and touring establish them as top local Pop group.
Little Sister secures “major” recording contract, debut album Ready and Willing released. Band receive 2 OKTV Awards and achieve national #1 hit with “Dear Abbie.” Continual national touring and TV work exposes band to national audience.
Band release second album More Than Meets the Eye. Smash hit “Peace on Earth” becomes their second national #1 hit. More touring and live work ensures solid fan-base nationwide and high profile.
Little Sister release third album Along the Way, recorded at Bop Studios. Album co-produced by top LA producer Mike Flicker (Heart) and Dennis East. Two national #1 hits from the album “Mystery of Life” and “Love Is a Weapon.” Along the Way released in the Far East and band do regional promo-tour. Live work continues – band support slots for Indecent Obsession, UB40 & Bryan Adams.
Band remains at forefront of SA music scene with constant live appearances. Extensive charity (AIDS awareness) and anti-piracy work done, band maintains profile. Highlight is performance at President Nelson Mandela’s inauguration.
Little Sister sign new recording deal with BMG Records Africa. New album Heart of the Matter is recorded, produced by Dennis East.
Heart of the Matter released on Colossal Records.
